St Anns stabbing, March 2011.



AN area of St Ann's is cordoned off this morning after a man was found with serious injuries.
The 27-year-old was found in Stonebridge Road at about 11.15pm last night. He has been taken to the Queen's Medical Centre where he remains in a serious condition.

Police are searching the area this morning. Stonebridge Road is closed at the junction with Paxton Gardens and just beyond Ferrers Walk. Parts of Lytton Close and Dennett Close are closed, and Ferrers Walk is entirely closed, while police carry out a detailed search and house-to-house enquiries.

A woman from Paxton Gardens, who did not want to be named, said: "I got out of bed at about 12.15am.I heard lots of shouting and running up and down the road.

"I heard it was someone who was stabbed. There were a lot of police around here at about 5am and the police helicopter was here at about 6.30am for ages."

Another female resident from Paxton Gardens said: "The police woke me up at about 1am this morning saying there was a serious assault."
